Bocadito is designed so that what you log about your baby stays with you. This page explains, with no fine print, what data the app uses and why.

Who is responsible

Bocadito Team. You can write to us at support@getbocadito.com.

No account, data on your iPhone

Bocadito doesn't ask you to create an account, or to give an email or a password.

What you enter in the app (your baby's name and age, the foods they've tried, their reactions and your notes, the allergies you mark, the menu, and the shopping list) is stored only on your iPhone. We don't receive it, and it isn't synced with iCloud. If you delete the app, that data is deleted with it.

Camera and microphone

The app asks for the camera and microphone only if you want to record a clip of their first time with a food. The clip is created on your iPhone and isn't uploaded anywhere. If you share it, that's your choice, using the iOS share sheet.

Apple Intelligence

When a dish has no Bocadito recipe, Apple Intelligence suggests a version, on your iPhone or in Private Cloud Compute, Apple's private cloud, which doesn't keep what you type. Only the dish name and your baby's stage are sent. Bocadito's safety rules check the result. Apple's privacy policy governs how it is handled.

Usage statistics

To learn what works and what doesn't, the app sends anonymous usage statistics to Amplitude, with servers in the European Union. These are simple counts and flags (for example, how many foods get marked, or whether a screen was opened). Never what your baby eats, their reactions, or your notes. We configure the tool not to record your IP address, the vendor identifier, or your carrier.

You can turn them off in Settings › Privacy › Share anonymous usage data.

Crash reports

If the app crashes, we send a technical report to Sentry so we can fix it: iPhone model, iOS version, app version, and the technical details of the crash.

Purchases

Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store; we never see your card or payment details. To know whether you have access to the paid features, we use RevenueCat, which receives purchase information and a random identifier tied to your iPhone, not to your name.

Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account settings.

Notifications

If you allow it, the app schedules reminders on your own iPhone. We don't send notifications from any server.

Website waitlist

If you leave your email on the getbocadito.com waitlist, we store your email address, the language and market of the page you signed up from (for example "en-gb"), the date and time, the version of the consent text you accepted, and a secret code to unsubscribe. We use it only to email you once Bocadito is on the App Store. We don't use it for anything else and we don't share it.

To fight spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that you're a person, and we keep an hourly counter tied to an irreversible, salted hash of your IP address. We don't store your IP next to your email, and the counters are deleted within a few days.

Legal basis: your consent (UK/EU GDPR, Article 6(1)(a)), which you give by ticking the box. You can withdraw it at any time.

Where it's stored: with Cloudflare, the provider that hosts this website and processes this data on our behalf.

How long: we delete your address after we send the launch announcement or after 12 months at most, whichever comes first.

To unsubscribe and have your address deleted, use the unsubscribe link in any email from us, or write to support@getbocadito.com at any time.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your data.
  • We don't track you across apps or websites.
  • We don't show advertising, in the app or on this website.

Children

Bocadito is an app for mothers, fathers and carers. It isn't directed at children and doesn't collect data from them: what's logged about the baby is entered by an adult and stays on their iPhone.

Your rights

Because almost everything is on your iPhone, you're in control: you can view it, change it, or delete it from the app or by deleting the app. For any question or request about your data, or about the statistics and crash reports, write to us at support@getbocadito.com.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, if the change is important, let you know in the app.
